Ants In Your Colorado Home

I’ve been in the exterminating business for a few years and I’ve come to the conclusion that ants are the most enduring and persistent of insects that we as exterminators usually have to deal with.  The ant population outnumbers man millions to one.

We have definitely noticed an increase this year because of the amount of moisture we have had.  Water always makes everything thrive, and of course, that means insects will also thrive.

Most of our calls about ants have been about the persistent, little pavement ants.  Pavement ants are small, dark brown ants that seem to appear out of nowhere from cracks in the floor.  Sometimes they will come out at your front or back door, or even your garage.  You’ll notice what appears to be at first, coffee grounds spilled on the ground.  But as you walk toward them, you see those coffee grounds are moving.

Mixed in with them, you will also see winged ants.  These are the queens and drones swarming to mate and start a new colony.  This new colony could be on the other side of your garage, the other side of your yard, or even come from up the street.  As professional exterminators, we know that is the time to strike!  One, we have found the main home of the colony, and two, the majority of the colony is out working.

Even if by the next day, it appears that the colony is gone, it actually just went back underground.  However, as long as we know the location of where they were initially, with today’s specially designed chemicals, we are able to treat the location that will penetrate down to the hive.  The design of today’s chemicals is to treat the colony as time goes by.  Ants may not die immediately, but they track the poison back to their hive, continually touching each other and infecting each other.  So as a result, within a couple days, the hive dies off.

It may be your experience to have bought over the counter poisons that have a short lived solution to your ant problem.  Now you are prepared to seek a highly trained exterminator, with an education and license to practice pest control.  Please trust our knowledge and experience to remedy your ant situation to a 100% guaranteed satisfaction.

This is just one type of ant that we are talking about.  There are several other types, from the carpenter ant, the odorous ant, the pharaoh ant and the harvest ant.  All may become an annoyance to each of us.  Only when they cause damage or endanger our livelihood, our possessions, etc., do we want to take the necessary action of extermination.  Other than that, they serve a very good purpose in our environment.  They have a reason to be here.
